I would suggest to delete all the files present in the install log, then log out and in, so you would prevent GoLive from being present in any menu (open with, etc...) on your G5...

I don't have an answer for question #1, but for the #2 it's quite simple... if the file comes in a .sit (or other format recognized by Stuffit Expander), you can delete that file after installing the app. if the file comes in a dmg file, once you have copied the app in your application folder...
which one is the startup disk? she check the cds that were shipped with the PB, but she can always find software install and restore 1 and 2, iLife and something about wireless... otherwise, the PB has also a problem in the closure of the screen, tomorrow she would go to the apple local store...
you don't need to defrag in osX... you can find a lot of post on this topic here in macosx.com, just do a fast 'search' on the forum to obtain more info about this...

i've read on this forum about opener, but from what I've read it's not a serious danger... no other that can be called 'virus' or 'trojan' or 'worm'... there was a security bug in safari (http://forum.zone-h.org/viewtopic.php?t=919), but I don't know if it has been patched in one of the latest...
you can copy your laptop on your desktop or in a folder, you'll find an alias. you can also select to add to your keychain the username and password... then bring the alias to the right part of the dock, in my case it's working.
