Ahhh, thank you all, very, very usefull information. I think I will just turn the LCD to a sleep mode, and leave the system sleep mode on never.

Cheryl thank you for the information, and welcome to Macosx.com however I am already aware of what you have said, my question is am I shortening my iMacs life span by not turning on energy saver and am I jepordizing the longevity of my LCD by not allowing it to sleep?

I read somewhere the it is good to let the LCD on your iMac go into sleep mode, to give it a longer life. However say im exporting and iMove to quicktime and its longer then the max amount of time before the iMac goes to sleep, if it goes to sleep while im exporting it simply stalls and does...
