    Partitioning HD no recommended?

Like it was said, should be no problem at all to partition the drive and keep the response high. And partitioning is the thing to do IMO: Multiple partitions dividing Data, System and Software can save data when a serious crash or system problem occurs. A HFS/Win formatted partitioned drive...

    Drivers for No-Name Remote Control?

Ok, so I got this no-name Remote Control from my parents, who got it with their PC a while back and do not use it. It's a combination of a RC and a USB reciever. So far I had no luck getting it to work with my G4 though. Has anybody an idea what I could try? So far I checked if drivers for...

    iMac died. Ideas?

Could that prevent it from booting alltogether? I only know that the system mourns if the battery is getting low as the date is not kept straight and always resets.

    iMac died. Ideas?

So, I wanted to reactivate my old bondi-blue iMac to become a HD recorder for my bands rehersal room. I had it running earlier this week to see if the OS is clean etc. Now I wanted to transfer some music from my G4 to the iMac, turned it on, and during the OS X progress bar, it just died. No...

:( I cant save my game in C&C Generals! :(

If C&C is halfway decently written, it should recreate the folder on it's own. I do not have it on my HDD, but I would guess it saves either: in the game folder in ~/Library/Application Support/ You could check those. Have you installed it properly? If you'Re playing it from the DVD, and it...

    Best games for G4.

Quake 3 always played well, even on my old iMac G3. Warcraft 3 should be a blast as well. Diablo II should behave as well.

    ...Question...

An emulation will almost never be as good as the original system. You will have to check it out. Borrow a Windows CD from one of your friends and test it. Getting a new PC just for some freeware game seems a bit extreme IMO though. Abolishing the glory of the Mac just for some game...?

    Call of Duty online question

As far as I know, CoD supports online gaming, in the 'basic' as well as the extended version. The service of online play does not cost (in the way World of Warcraft does), but you have to pay for your online connection of course. :)

PING, do you want a higher or lower number?

Anything above 100 is pretty much hope- and useless IMO. Don't go there. :)

DVD authoring: Burning iDVD images on Windows?

Ok, this is my 'problem': I want to make a DVD from a concert I played with my band and a friend recorded. I have iDVD and iMovie, but no drive to burn DVDs in my G4. My parents have a DVD writer in their Windows PC, but no application like iDVD/iMovie. So, is there a way to burn the iDVD...

Enemy Territory makes monitor switch off...

I think the refresh rate goes beyond the specs your monitor can handle. To stop ET from going above a certain refresh rate, just add the following lines to the cfg-file (either located inside the ET directory, or under "~/Library/Application Support/Enemy Territory": seta r_maxDisplayRefresh...

    Halo's really some pain

I can not really believe that at 640x480 the game is running slower than on 1024x768... The newest driver is always included in the most recent OS X upgrades. As Halo is from 2003, the drivers on there are as well. They would not help anyways. Update to the newest version of OS X if you have...
