    CounterStrike

From what I could gather, that is not true. The problem is: The code already exists for the Havoc-Engine to be ported to OS X, it's just that the developer firm wants too much money for any Mac publisher could bring up

    Emulators/ ROMS

But, don't they charge a fee for the service? I'm not 100% sure, but I think I read something like that in an article about the Revolution. I think it was a self made way of the ROM-Sites to somewhat get out of the grey zone, or invent some rules for the grey zone

    Emulators/ ROMS

So, distributing ROMs for Sega MegaDrive or SNES is (possibly) not bad at all. But I can get sacked for distributing ROMs for GameBoy Advance games?

    Emulators/ ROMS

On many sites I read that (as stated above) when you own the original cartridge, you can play it with your emulator as well. Many ROM sites state that if you do not own it, you are allowed to download it for test purposes, but are asked to delete it after 24 hours. But yeah, it's a greay area...

    World of Warcraft

Do you have 10.4 anyways? Or do you not have administrative rights on your computer? If so, ask someone who has to do it EDIT: I attatched 4 pics below, showing the steps for the exclusion with Spotlight (as example I chose my Doom GL folder), in case you did not understand it right away...

Thought I'd share this: Apple released a firmware update for the single CPU G5, to improve reliability of the system. This may the long awaited fix for all those folks suffering from the G5 crashing etc. I can not say how good it actual works, as I don't have a G5 myself. The update is...

    World of Warcraft

Under OS X, unlike OS 9, you can not tell the system how much RAM it should keep for a specific application. OS X organizes the RAM much more dynamic than OS 9 did, so basically every application should get the best possible share of both CPU time and RAM. If you want the maximum amount of...

    World of Warcraft

Unlike ATI, nVidia does not provide a single driver download for their cards. ATI proivides seperate driver downloads from time to time, but you get the newest nVidia drivers only with the OS X updates. Means: If you have the latest version of OS X installed, you have the latest drivers for your...

    World of Warcraft

Hm, you could get more RAM. You could also turn down details in one way or another to gain some frames. All I could think of, as I do not really play WoW

    Halo

first thing is, topics like no-cd patches are a no no here in the forums. Second thing is, afaIk there is no No-CD patch for version 1.5.2

    Apple iTunes - 6.0

Is iTunes worth the upgrade from version 5.01, or is the only new stuff the video playback? If there are bugfixes in it, I might bother loading it. But I'm not really keen on getting that video function

    Weird Firefox bug.

Hm, is it a nightly build or the regular release of Firefox? If it's a nightly, I wouzld chose a newer/older build of it, or test the regular one to see if the problem exists there as well. I would test a nightly if you have a regular build at the moment

    The return of Macintosh Basics

*remembers* Ahh, the memories... I think it would be an excellent idea to bring it back. Like it was stated before, computers are not really that easy to use. Even a Mac is not something you sit Granny in front of and expect she'll surf the internet for news half an hour later. Something...

Itunes Stops Playing If I Login to Another Account

It's a difference if you actually log-out (completely leave) or fast-user switch to another account. And even there it was not natural that the music keeps playing AFAIK. I think I remember there is a small utility for the fast user thing, I'm not 100% sure though
