    mac mini running slow...

Both, if you have the budget. Otherwise, max out the RAM first. You will have to replace the hard drive eventually, as it would be the first major component to wear out. A 16MB Cache Toshiba HDD is a great choice for a 5400RPM hard drive.

    SATA HD in a G4?

You can, as long as you have a PCI Serial ATA card.

    XServe G4 running 10.4 Server

Hi there, I'm thinking about moving from 10.2 Server to 10.4 Server with a XServe G4. Those who have experience in this please feel free to share your experience with me--either good--or bad. Thank you in advance! Sincerely, George Lien

    Powermac opinions please guys?

I upgraded two 466MHz G4s, aka Digital Audio, to gigahertz G4s with OWC solution. They perform very well, and only cost me a total of $1,000 USD, $500 each. With ATi 9000 Pro graphic card upgrades, they even outperform the Mac minis, mainly thanks to the faster 7200rpm hard disk drives...

    PCIe SATA RAID card

Hi everyone! I plan to buy the new Power Mac G5 with PCI-Express I/Os. Is there any OS X compatiable PCIe RAID card? Please advise. Thank you.

Mac mini the first to go Intel?

That's from June? Ooops, you're right. Sorry about, it was late in Taiwan when I posted it. I consider anyone providing important information a "friend" in the Mac news world.

Mac mini the first to go Intel?

A G5 laptop, really? I guess DigiTime is right then, huh? Personally, I doubt we will see a portable G5. But if there were a G5 laptop, it most likely would be a PowerBook, no iBook G5 perviously reported by DigiTimes.

Mac mini the first to go Intel?

While the latest iBook G4s might be good enough for the recent back-to-school sale, Apple can expect a relatively weak sales for this Thanksgiving and Christmas unless new PowerBooks could be introduced with much powerful processors and graphic cards. I don't believe that Apple is "behind"...

Can Apple Give a Straight Answer?

Ever since the invention of OS X, I had almost never shut down or restart my Macs, both desktops and laptops. Sleep naturally becomes the primary option. Long live OS X!

    Apple Expo Paris... speed bumps?

I don't know, but ever since the Intel announcement, all the expected dates for updates are off. The new iBook G4 were 3-month late. What's up with the Mac minis? Yeah, doubled the RAM, free bluetooth and Airport, but no faster processor or better graphic card. I, however--yes, with...

New Mac Minis and iBooks support core image?

Don't draw your conclusion too quickly, since the new graphic card could be added onto the outdated list. I think there's a reason for the graphic upgrade. Stay tune.

Mac mini the first to go Intel?

No, Intel Macs yet. But I'm still betting on the Mac mini to be the first to change. ^_^

Mac mini the first to go Intel?

Thanks for the information, RacerX. I guess I just have a lot of wishful thinking in my head. That's all. You guys are probably right--expecting Apple to introduce Intel-based processors next week are just long shot. Still, they will all be changed sooner or later, right? I'm just...

Mac mini the first to go Intel?

All I can say is: Ready To Be Surprised. No, I do not have any tip from an insider. I just think the sooner Apple complete the transition, the more Macintosh computers it will sell. Many people may pend their orders to see what Apple has to offer with the new Intel-based Macintoshes...

Mac mini the first to go Intel?

I think you're right, fryke. Steve really threw me off when he confirm the rumor that the Mac is going Intel. Well, the technology is definitely here. But, you're right, we're still waiting for the software. Still, it will be kind of cool if Apple introduces the Mac mini as the first...

    PSP vs iPod

PSP is more than just a gaming device. To me, it's a PMP. It will become more obvious once a new version with built-in hard disk drive turns out. Besides, the screen with 16:9 aspect ratio is too nice for only gaming.

    IBM G5 Dual-Core 2.5 ghz

I disagree with your "'[missing]' the 3GHz mark means nothing" remark. If it did meant "nothing," then Steve would not mention it at this year's WWDC. Apple today could sell twice as many--maybe even more--Power Macintosh G5 computers if the fastest processor speed matches Intel's. When...

    PSP vs iPod

PSP is one of the portable media players, aka PMPs. iPod is only a portable music player. Two separate segment products. You're comparing apple's to oranges.

    IBM G5 Dual-Core 2.5 ghz

IBM has been "keeping up with Intel just fine for the past two years"? Really? If so, where is my PowerBook G5? And where is my 3GHz Power Mac G5?
