Smooth.
Both PowerBooks, my original 500MHz and my new 1GHz, work really smooth with a Gig of memory upgrade.
PowerBook G4/500 now runs at bar with the B&W G3 with a G4/500 and 1GB of RAM upgrades.
But soon the B&W G3 G4/500 should be able to put up a fight with the gigahertz PowerBook...
I thought you could improve the bluetooth feature by installing this, Bluetooth 1.2.1 for Mac OS X (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120219)?

Yes, I'm still using 10.2 instead of Panther.
I can't decide whether to stick with 10.2.6 or to upgrade all the way to 10.2.8.
According to various sources from the Net, there are security problems on both versions.
So the question is: which one should I update to?
Any suggestions...
Hey guys, I've just received the 4 of the 512MB Samsung notebook memory I ordered last night!
I'm so happy because I placed the order only less than a week ago from from www.welovemac.com.
Two thumbs up for www.welovemac.com for prompt delivery and low international shipping...
I got myself the TiBook, and just like McDonald's slogan in Taiwan--"I'm lovin it"! ! !
Use my new Ti's installation CD to install Mac OS X.2, which I have legal copies of (10.1 plus 10.2 upgrade), onto my old Ti.
Now both machines just work great! It's like having two brand new...
Originally I bought OS X.1 for my original PowerBook G4. Then I bought the upgrade to OS X.2.
After getting my new 1GHz PowerBook G4, I did a little experiment--using its restore disk to install OS X to the older generation PowerBook G4.
Guess what? Now OS X runs even speeder and...
But I meant the supplier and the maker of the RAM.
Anyway, I was tricked--okay, not really--I should say guided to WE LOVE MACS, A Division of Memory X (http://www.welovemacs.com/) from always-so-dependentable Macsurfer.com.
Chose the PowerBook G3 & G4 Memory from the Apple Computer Memory...
It all comes down to education.
Just like most Americans can only speak English, and are too lazy to learn another language, most computer users are stuck with Windows.
How do we change this? Buy new Macs for our youths. Educate them about the Mac OS and the power of Unix. I, for one...
Hey there!
Just got myself yet another PowerBook G4--the Gigahertz PowerBook G4. The 500MHz was nice, and the new 1GHz is even nicer.
I would suggest you to invest yourself a 1GHz TiBook as well.
Apple is selling refurbished ones for $1999 at its online Apple Store.
Or you can wait...
Dear everyone,
I've been waiting for this moment for over a year now, making a very big decision, which is should I buy the last generation 1GHz PowerBook G4? , aka the "TiBook."
Tell me what you think.
Best Regards,
George Lien
It's been 2 and a half since I bought my first PowerBook G4, and now I'm finally getting the last generation of the TiBooks.
I'm surprised that you left out the Gigahertz PowerBook.
Anyway, 1GHz TiBook G4 is what I plan to get.
Cheers! I'm gonna be broke, but I'm gonna be happy! ^_^...
Hi,
Any of you tried running MacOS X on an upgraded PM9600?
I'm thinking about getting some PM9600s, upgrade them to G3/400 with at least 512MB of RAM to run OS X, but not sure how well it will run, so I came up here to see if any of you have done this before.
Please share your...
I installed OS X.2 on another Beige PowerrMac G3/233 with only 256MB. Beige PowerrMac G3/400 with only 256MB feels as slow as the G3/233.
My suggestion is to have at least 512MB of RAM if not 768MB.

I'm using this upgraded Beige PowerMac G3/233 to type this information on the Internet.
"So what's so great about this?" you may say.
What I cannot believe is that Apple has tuned MacOS X (10.2.6) so well that this upgraded G3/233, runs as fast as my PowerBook G4/500, which is almost 3...
I have an old 15-inch PowerBook G4/500. Someone offers me a 12-inch PowerBook G4/867 in return of my PowerBook and plus, minus $600 USD cash.
Should I do it? Should I make the trade?
Please give me your opinion.
Thank you!

Without this Steve, there would be no Apple.
Without Apple, there would be no Macintosh.
Without Macintosh, there would be no Mac OS X.
Without Mac OS X, there would be no site named macosx.com.
^_^ That's how important this guy is!
