I defrag my non-system partitions after i archive data. And I do that whenever i get enough data that can be archived onto a DVD, about every 3 months on average with no video work.

I use DiVA, haven't ripped a DVD in a LONG time though. But DiVA ripped them fine, you might have to convert the audio from AC3 to aiff, then add that to the movie. I'm sure there are other ways. As far as for the web... i use the sorenson3 codec, just my own personal choice.

Well I liked the flash presenatation... But I llike Entourage, it brings all the other apps i need into, makes it much easier to manage my projects. As far as the other stuff, i won't need it, but I can see how others will benefit from the PowerPoint prsentation mode, i hope Macromedia gives...

Doesn't it convert them to MX files? Well I see I have Director 8.5 for Classic, so maybe thats why my old files converted.

Real has really made improvements since their early years. I remember how crappy it was way back when, now it gives you great streams, a very nice inerface, and a lot more sites use it over QuickTime. But I'm for QuickTime anyday, and i hope to see it bounce back.

I still use Sorenson 3 due to that, so yea, that needs to be fixed. I like 3vix, great qaulity at crazy low file sizes. I guess it's the same as divx.

I was just going to do an applescript that would run a perl code that will modify a text file on my server that indicates true or false. So when i sign on it runs, when i sign off it runs. I never got around to it though. This would be for use in Flash.

well it's the same idea... as long as all your variables are the same and same relative location, it should work. So whats different? Is it nested within another movie? Use some trace commands to see what happens at a certain time, that will tell you where your code is and isn't working.

yea, and the text file. It has to be formated a certain way for it to even work right. Check out some tutorials online, i'm sure there are a number of them.

first... why are you loading it that way? And if it loads from one to another, seems like you are basically passing variables from one location to anoother. Establish a destination for your data, then have it sent to the movieclip instead. Seem like you're making it more difficult than it needs...

loadVariablesNum() specifies what level to load into, not into a movieclip. So that textfield should have the same variable name as one of the variables in that file, considering it's formated correctly. I haven't used a text file is some time, i prefer XML, so I can't help much on a...
