    Interview the person beneath you

A: I haven't seen any of the originals (that I know of). Having said that, I like The Ring, but The Ring II looks like YAS (Yet Another Sequel). Q: In the context of "if I knew then what I know now"... If you could go back and do it again... would you?

dude... it's 6Am. I've been up since 4AM after taking Nyquil and being medicated for a sinus infection the last few days. Quit making me do that!! :)

Where is here in the subliminal depths of perception?

One can not question... or more precisely, have answered... where 'here' is until one understands the many dimensions in which 'here' is representative. My 'here' is not your 'here'. Your 'here' in the now is not the same 'here' which you were pondering a moment ago or a mile away or in a mood...

    Epson scanner connection problem

I went thru' 2 epsons before I got the Stylus Photo RX500. It works wonderfully. the "Perfection" series seems to be a waste of time.

    HP drivers for PSC1315 printer

I had an HP PhotoSmart 1215 for a couple of years. Loved it. Thought it was a great product under Windows and Linux. On OS/X it was an absolute piece of major pain in the arse to use. I sold it on EBay and got an Epson Stylus Photo RX500 in its place. It's also well supported on Windows and...

    What goes around...

I believe that people get what they deserve, more or less. But, I don't think it's due to some cosmic karma. More, I believe that if you're a decent person and you treat people well, then they're more inclined to treat you well. if you're a prick you're going to piss people off and get treated...

You're correct; I haven't done many on a Mac. Thanks for the clarifications.

    Epson scanner connection problem

It'll be about the size of a dime, tho' a little thicker. It'll be inside a black or brown plastic housing that either has pressure clips to hold the battery in, or has a removable cap. It'll most likely be soldered onto the main board in such a way so that the battery stands vertical. Look for...

    Free word processor

Being a software developer myself, I can say that if I were to take the time to create a seriously polished and crafted application like Pages or Word, I'm sure I'd be wanting to be paid. Not that I'm greedy, but that type of thing is simply not something that the average working man has time to...

    Interview the person beneath you

A: Logan. Hands down. He's fearsome without being uber. He's got 'tude and spunk and when it comes down to it, he's probably among the least "super" of the Marvels. Spidey is a close second; a real guy with real issues. Q: Chicken or Duck?

    Interview the person beneath you

Don't worry about it being heavy. If you can't talk about what made you who you are now and then...? A: DaVinci Code. Good read! Q:Sponge Bob or Scooby Doo ?

OWC offers SuperDrive burners for most Macs

Cool, thanks. I run Virtual PC on my iBook. I added a 1 gig stick to this and it doesn't fly, but it runs well enough for what I do. As I do more and more work at home, I'm not adverse to dedicating the Dell to a dev box with a dual boot for the kids. Maybe.

    Interview the person beneath you

A: My father. He died as a direct result of his lifestyle. I vowed never to be like that. I loved the old guy, truly did, but no one parties that hard for that long and pisses off that many people doing so without leaving a legacy. Q: How's your relationship with your father and does/will it...

    Looking for Entourage alternative

I used to love AmiPro 2.0. Fast, easy, lightweight. Good stuff, to be sure. What was that replacement called? Write? WritePro? I forget. I remember it suffered from feature bloat, too and I kept AmiPro around for a long, long time.

OWC offers SuperDrive burners for most Macs

Robn Kester - I see in your sig block that you have a 1.42 mini. My main desktop PC (1.8ghz Pentium 4) is one that I'm considering retiring from desktop use and replacing it with a Mini. Give me the real deal... performance wise, will I be sorry I made the choice? I'm not a gamer... in fact...

    best TV to MAC solution?

I personally don't think the marketplace nor the manufacturers are ready for all-in-one compu-tainment machines. The pitiful few that are out there are still in their infancy and are cobbled together. Meanwhile, new home theater and high quality (high def, flat screen, big screen) TVs are...

Rant to Nat'l Geopgraphic: Thaks for TOPO! but...

Makes you wonder if the devs did *any* usability testing and, if so, what in the hell made them say, "Yep, it's ready. Ship it." Sorry, man :(

    I scratched my cinema display

Let me preface all of this with "I've never done this". Now then... about 8 years ago I was working in a service center... '95 -> '98 ish. There was a company that sold a brush-on polymer stuff... like the little car-paint touch up kits... that was designed to fill in scratches. They...

OpenOffice ( http://www.openoffice.org/ ) is an excellent package. Also look for JOffice, a native OS/X port of OpenOffice.
