I would go even for a G4-based PowerMac if money isn't a problem instead of iMac for games, video, etc. But if you can wait couple of months G5 may be overkill in the months ahead but not so in years ahead****** Then it boils down to, like always, need vs. want and the $$$.....your suggestion...
