what the hell?? no guys linux is NOT faster than OSX? its the same speed. i'm using a lot different distros of linux and i have a mac too. i see no difference in speed. but yea ieeya.. i.. ehmm.. well there's one thing i need the mention here: osx needs a lot of ram.. increase ur ram capacity...

well the thing is. java should work on every system.. unless its not 100% pure java. in this case it isin't. the software is specifically designed for solaris. i doubt the c++ version would be any better. but it could be only because solaris and darwin are both unix. but then again.. its all...

hmm i find that risky actually or maybe i'm just very paranoid.. i simply move the folder to desktop.. then ./configure, make and (make test at times) then sudo make install. as far as possible i refrain from sudo or su, anything root actually.

well u need to run a mp4 file that has been encoded with the h.264 codec in the first place i think. but ichat and stuff use it for streaming video.. any difference there?

That’s not how it works.. u see the technologies are cheap. But the maintenance is expensive. You usually pay around like a 100 just for maintenance, the rest probably goes into the technologies.

wind won't work on a PPC platform.. try darwine.

msn 6 on windows looks ugly so does 3.5 on mac. ichat av looks good. but then looks are not all that counts, i really do like the msn 6 features.. integrated gamming, themes, etc.. and all those i know use msn here heh .. so i'm hopeing for the new msn 6 for mac.. and i wish it wouldn't be so...

well u see, Java is the way to go no doubt. It's the best. But learning the concepts.. hmm that might not be so easy to comprehend as a first time programmer. it might even get confusing. I'd recommend basic. then immediately move to java
