I have to agree with part of that last post. Another thing to ask is how much time they have spent on both platforms. Unless there is a fair amount of time on both they are not able to make a compairison.

Um Ed, you can not boot from a system folder off a cd that was copied to the hard drive. If you try you will get a message stating that.

If you don't want X on at all, yes just reformat. If you want both, insert the OS 9 disk in and then in the startup disk in system prefs select the CD as the boot and install.

I had the same problem until I manually downloaded the 10.1.2 update and installed. Since then I've had no problems.

I only boot in to 9 when I need to burn. I have a USBXchange USB to SCSI adapter. Adaptec has told me they will not be supporting it in X. So I guess I'm stuck with OS 9 for a while.

No it's not a carbon app! That's what makes it wierd! It functioned just fine. I'm wondering that once libraries it uses are loaded if a classic app is good to go. Well I don't know and I haven't tried since it happened before.

In OS 9.2.1 Software Update says that my software is up to date, I know 9.2.2 is out and I don't know why it didn't so it. But don't really care, I want it to work in X. I did manually download software update 1.3.1 and install it. Some time back. Last time it worked was 11-22-01!! Thanks again
