Thanks for the suggestion; sadly it didn't work. I even tried ripping the contents from the DVD to the hard disk (using MacTheRipper) and then using that source, and the same thing happened.

I was using Handbrake to rip DVDs (that I had purchased) to my mac. It goes well, until it gets to one chapter, it gets to about 95% and then stops. I left it for two hours and it hadn't moved a bit, this was on an 8 minute piece. So I cancelled and tried again, it just said "Encoding" and...

Damn... I thought we (UK) had it bad with music videos, movie trailers (YAY! :confused: ) and those pixar animations.

You can do that with songs, so why not videos? But wouldn't this require a host playlist? I want to keep all the videos on the iPod not the powerbook, wouldn't the playlists require an identical copy on the powerbook?

Are you using the video much? The video playback is 2 hours. I have the 60GB version which has 20 hours normal, and 3 hours video playback, and I use the video a lot, so I have to charge my iPod every day or two.

Hey, Basically, I've been encoding Family Guy episodes for my iPod, Season 1-3... many episodes, each one is 200mb in size. You can guess that this takes up a lot of space on the powerbook. I checked the preferences and it allows me to choose what video playlists to update. That won't work...

I tried the genre, that doesn't do it. I figured it out. Press Apple + I on the song, go to "Options" and choose the video type (Movies or Music Video). Thanks though.

I used Podner, which is good, and it gave me options on how to save the files. The files are from music DVDs I ripped, and all works fine. But I just now have a collection of music videos in my movies folder in the iPod... how do I sort this out? 10.4.3, 60GB iPod video. Thanks.

Well, I used Quicktime Pro on 10.4.3, using the "Export to iPod" option, which itself allows no alteration in options.

Yeah, I am considering the white iPod for that reason. Do you have the 30GB? Or the 60GB? I am thinking about the 60GB now, I just need to persuade my dad that paying that extra £70 (from my own money) will be worth it.
