Movies have no sound on iPod Video

Hey, it appears that any video I try and play on my iPod do not work, with sound. They look fine. Some were ripped from DVDs, and the only two that work are short films from my camera phone.

I haven't downloaded any videos yet from the iTunes store, which brings me onto my second question - can I download from the US music store? I would love to get some episodes of Lost, but the UK store does not offer them.

I would assume you encoded them with an audio layer that isn't supported by the iPod. Check around and make sure you encoded the audio in something that is supported.

Well, I used Quicktime Pro on 10.4.3, using the "Export to iPod" option, which itself allows no alteration in options.

I'd try an offical apple move and see what happens, music plays right?
