I am sure that is a bug on 10.1.1 nobody that I know who uses day/month/year and OSX has been able to set that correctly, so lets hope in a future update apple fixes this and stops being so US centered..most of the world uses day/month/year:)

Thanks dricci, but i am refering to the date not to the clock:) and yes, it is in the "iternational" sp that I have played with,,there it displays the way i wanted..it is only on the menu bar that doesnt change,,I have friends who also use day/month/year and have the same problem I do..but...
