    Invalid Apple ID

One would think so. I had clicked Menu any number of times, expecting to see something that looked like an iPad home page. I finally realized that the Settings icon plays hide-and-seek in an array with 74 other icons. Now that I know where it is, it seems obvious. Anyway, that allowed me to...

    Invalid Apple ID

I have a problem right off the bat. How do I open the settings? I don't klnow what model of Apple TV I have. The case says it's Model A1469. I tried with the unit attached to the TV and could find no way to open a menu. When I plugged it into a USB port the iMac didn't recognize its existence.

    Invalid Apple ID

No. How do I update the OS on Apple TV, and how do I change its settings?

    Invalid Apple ID

A couple of years ago, when Verizon turned their email servers over to AOL, I abandoned @verizon.net in favor of @iCloud.com. I had been using a verizon.net address as an Apple ID, and I changed it to a current email address. Same account, new name, with the help of Apple support. I have an...

Sharing my Photos and iTunes with wife's iPad

That's not it. I have a Dropbox license for five devices and we have only four. In any case, I am successfully syncing 1Password and Reunion (a genealogy app) through Dropbox to the new iPad. The only problem (so far) is with the Photos library. A strange email from Dropbox just came in...

Sharing my Photos and iTunes with wife's iPad

I have an iMac, where I maintain my Photos and iTunes libraries. I share these with my iPad via Dropbox (Photos) and iCloud (iTunes). My wife has a Macbook Pro which shares Photos thru Dropbox and iTunes by sneakernet. (The latter is OK because the music rarely changes.) Now my wife has...

Finder and NeoOffice can't open a new Window

Sure enough! It never occurred to me to look there. Thanks.

Finder and NeoOffice can't open a new Window

My NeoOffice problem was solved when I discovered that when one of the tabs is dragged onto the desktop it remains there as a separate window. The New Finder Window command now opens a new window instead of a tab. That must have been a bug fix in either Mojave 10.14.2 or 10.14.3.

Finder and NeoOffice can't open a new Window

There's nothing about NeoOffice there, either. Well, there are preferences listed for NeoOffice-2, -3, and -4, but this version is 2017.15 Professional Edition. I did look through the NeoOffice-4 prefs anyway and found nothing about launch, open, New, or tabs.

Finder and NeoOffice can't open a new Window

One of the obvious first things to test with a problem like this is to try it in a different account, and it is also one of the things that I usually forget to do. I opened my Admin account and sure enough, in that account NeoOffice opens a new window instead of a tab. It is of course running...

Finder and NeoOffice can't open a new Window

Here is a screen shot of a Neo Office window. You can see the File pulldown offers New > Text Document and New > Spreadsheet. I opened a new spreadsheet followed by opening a new text document. The Neo Office window has two tabs, labeled at the top. In view is a blank text document...

Finder and NeoOffice can't open a new Window

NeoOffice has no support staff and, as far as I can find, no way to submit a bug report, which is kind of outrageous for a product that now charges rent. Neither are there any support forums that I can find. NeoOffice "Support" just suggests going to the Open Office or LibreOffice support...

Finder and NeoOffice can't open a new Window

Oops. I looked again and found it in Finder preferences. I had been looking in System Preferences because of the similar symptom in NeoOffice. Resetting the item in Finder Preferences fixed the Finder, but NeoOffice is still opening tabs instead of windows. I just went through all the...

Finder and NeoOffice can't open a new Window

As I said, I've looked for a setting like that but can't find it. Where is it?

Finder and NeoOffice can't open a new Window

iMac running Mojave 10.14.2. In both Finder and NeoOffice, command File => New Window opens a new tab instead of a new window. In NeoOffice, opening a new text file while in a spreadsheet opens the text in a tab and vice versa. File => New Tab works as expected in both apps. File => New...

With Mojave, Firefox & Chrome cannot access the Web; Safari & Opera Can

Little Snitch is a real pain when you first start using it. Browsers in particular need to reach many sites and you feel bombarded by pop-ups asking you to deny or permit links. Once past that phase, however, it is seldom heard from. I rarely block anything but what appear to be obvious ad...

With Mojave, Firefox & Chrome cannot access the Web; Safari & Opera Can

Problem solved, maybe. While lying awake unable to go to sleep last night, it came to me. Check the settings in Little Snitch. Sure enough, Little Snitch was denying any outgoing connections from both Firefox and Google Chrome. See attached screen grab. Little Snitch says there was a...

With Mojave, Firefox & Chrome cannot access the Web; Safari & Opera Can

Unfortunately, the OS update to 10.14.2 didn't work. Firefox and Google Chrome still can't find Web sites; Safari and Opera can. The update to 10.14.2 did, apparently, fix a different and less important problem, which may be related to the Firefox/Chrome problem. In Safari, sometimes the...

With Mojave, Firefox & Chrome cannot access the Web; Safari & Opera Can

The title says it all. I upgraded to MacOS Mojave and now neither Firefox nor Google Chrome can reach any Web site. Firefox says "Unable to Connect" and Chrome says "This site can't be reached". Safari and Opera don't have this problem. I have two user accounts on this iMac, one Standard for...
