WebEx does this, and it works quite well for desktop/application sharing. Unfortunately it is a pay-for-use service.

I've had 4 total. I bought my first right when OS X came out, a Blueberry G3 iMac. That didn't last long (too slow). A year ago I bought an 12" iBook G4, and a few months ago I bought a Mac mini and then a 17" PowerBook G4. More to follow, I hope!

In the OS X universe, what packages are equivalent to Micorsoft Visio and Microsoft Project? I'm not necessarily looking for something that is compatible, but packages that can be used for the same purporses...

Interesting. I just got my Powerbook 17" today with the Radeon 9700 w/ 128MB VRAM and it plays quite nice. It performs with about the same frame rate as the 2.4GHz Athlon I have with a Radeon 9600 Pro. The 12" PowerBook only has a GeForce2Go 5200 or something similar, I think?

I'm trying to gather compile time statistics on various Mac hardware. The Macs I've had access to so far have both done it around ~90 minutes, but of course they have slow 4200 laptop drives, so I would expect that to be a worst case situation.

There was a client update that improved the Mac client a little bit. It runs really slow on my Mac hardware, though, so I didn't really see an improvement. Eclipse is very good, and is usually the IDE I suggest for people who want a free one. I use IntelliJ IDEA from http://www.jetbrains.com/ for my Java development. I still find the G4 Macs too slow for most Java stuff. My 1GHz iBook was just too slow for any of the Java editors to be useful...

Apple has a refund policy if they drop any prices within 10 days of your order shipping. It isn't automatic, though. I had to call them up and they were helpful, but it took a little time to get worked out. But, I saved about $40! :) From what I read on slashdot, none of the Mac minis shipped...

My main reason for wanting the video to have 64MB of RAM would be for World of Warcraft ;) I play it now on my gaming PC, and surprisingly the frame rate there isn't too much more than my 12" iBook, but you can definitely tell when the video card is swapping in textures to its limited RAM space...

It is worth it for iPhoto alone. The current version is pretty weak, IMO, and this new one really seems to tie up some loose ends.
