you have found one of the quirks of the g4s and sleep. almost any change from stock, and they don't sleep. the truth is, the only way to allow it to sleep is to never have this card in. so you have to choose either sleep, or usb2 ports.

i'd also use itunes to reset the ipod to factory defaults just incase the ipod os is bad.

i've had a native g4 for only just over a year now. at my rate of upgrade, it'll be another 5-6yrs before i can get my hands on a g5, let alone an intel mac.

my buddies love their logitech g5 mice (on their pcs), and i love my basic ms optical wheel mouse on my mac. as long as you stick with a big name, and make sure that the box of the mouse states os x compatibility, you should be alright.

are there any switches on the adaptor that may of gotten changed? also, there should be the option to show all settings, and only recommended. goto all settings, and pick the 1024x768 at 60hz.

disconnect the intrenal floppy on the g3 and try it again. or try using disk utility with os x on the g5. besides, if i remember right, they are not true floppy images, they are a cd broken up into small chucks, that may fit on a floppy, so that it was easyer to download over a slow...

really? i've never had any issue. you selected the partition in disk untility, then clicked on the erase tab, and told it what kind of format, then click erase? what did it do then?

don't know about the software, but you can get a pci usb/firewire card for the 9600, it has 6 pci slots. i'd try macsales.com for mac compatible cards. then you'd be able transfer documnets alittle better.

hold down the x key to have it boot into os x. it could be that the mac doesn't have a bootable os 9 install, but only an os 9 install for the classic envrioment for os x.

well, the red/white rcas are the audio, and can be plugged into the breakout cable. now, is that s-video next to the tv scart? its too little for me to tell. if so, that that goes to the breakout cable as well. if not, then if that is an antenna out port to the left of the red/white rcas...

as i was trying to post a bug on the vip ad coving things, i wanted to attach a screen shot, but the forums would not seem to upload, and in fact the forum seemed to lock up, making all the buttons at the top of the reply box not work until i reloaded the page. using latest safari on 10.4.8.

ok, check this out. as you can see, that stupid vip ad is over the site navigation, and makes it so i can't click on the links to navigate in the forums. and it makes it hard to read. it needs to be moved up by a bit. using latest safari on 10.4.8.

i did try before the gong, and it gave me a x'ed out folder until i let go, then it booted to my startup drive. i just wonder if this ms keyboard isn't sending all the keys at once. but then again, i have done the pram reset with it, i think.
