    ipod not restoring

well, once you got it to win format, you should of left it there, it would of worked on the mac with no problem. but the main thing is you formatted it with the disk utility, which is what killed it as an ipod. the disk has to formatted a special way for it to be seen as an ipod by the...

Please suggest a broadband modem for G3 running OS 9

just about any modem should work, as long as they are enet types that allow you to remotely manage them over the network and not telnet. even then, you should be able to telnet to it from the mac with something like z-term.

    Need a weird software!

no, what i mean by simple finder is that once you launch an application, that is the only thing there is. by clicking in the background, it will not jump to the finder, or any other app behind it. it will stay only in the app that you are using. its a great tool for helping window users and...

i just put a 1.47gig cpu in my 466mhz mac, and love every minute of it. but yes, putting that slow a cpu in that old a mac seems kinda silly. but if it does what you want it to, and you are willing to pay the money, then go for it.

Getting the best image on a wide screen LCD?

hope that was a miss type. if not, that is why your text is fuzzy. it is also the way os x draws the screen. i have seen text look chrisper on win xp than 10.4 on my lcd. i know there are several apps out there that will let you tweek text settings more than the os will. i use tinker tool...

    solutions for viewing remote desktop

if you change th res of the laptop screen from the system preferences, like you were sitting in front of it, it will change the size of the vnc window. thats the same client i use, and it works for me. but i don't think you'll ever find anything anywhere near as fast as the mac itself.

firmware to upgrade g3 for os x

so you are using a scsi card then? well, if i were you, i'd find a cheap ide drive to use instead, and pull the scsi card out. and then the only thing you will need to worry about is that you will have to make a 7.5gig partition at the beginning of the drive to install os x on. it has this...

firmware to upgrade g3 for os x

um, according to apple, that g3 does not need any firmware updates to run os x 10.2.8. but if there is an apple supplied scsi card, then the card needs an update (see here). it was some of the g3 imacs that needed firmware updated to run os x, not the desktops. so you should just be able to...

    Imac operating system

um, if there is a smiling face, then it has found the os. but if it doesn't get past that, then the os install is bad, or the hard drive is bad. if you get a flashing question mark, then it can't find the os, or the drive is bad. what excatly does the mac do step by step when you turn it on...

    LCD Advice

if i remember right, the bigger the number, the better for brightness and contrast. so a 300 is better than 250, and a 1000 is better than a 600. as for viewing angle, thats the angle off from head on that you can still see the screen, so as well, the bigger the better. now for dot pitch...

    Question about iphoto

sadly no, there is no way. what you can do however is make a burn folder, and drag the photos from the iphoto window to the burn folder, then when you have what photos you want on it, click the burn button in the folder.
