processsor upgrades for wallstreet

I was thinking about getting a 400 mhz processor made by avanti for my wallstreet. Does anyone know if processor upgrades can have detrimental effects on the computer?
 
Well, they're not officially supported by anyone, so they could. Are you sure that you want to put more money into an out-dated machine?
 
i just put a 1.47gig cpu in my 466mhz mac, and love every minute of it. but yes, putting that slow a cpu in that old a mac seems kinda silly. but if it does what you want it to, and you are willing to pay the money, then go for it.
