PowerPC G4 (1.1) is mine, i know the model is not so current, so perhabs I do need some kind of an upgrade...?

I don't think it will make a difference, because it is a reoccuring message, with a variety of programs..any other suggestions?

i have several software packages (.img, .dmg) i cannot install simply because "there is no mountable file systems"... and these are made for OS X, which is what I use..Is there something i don't know? or is there a problem with these fileS? please help, i am literally clueless...
