internet banking / vpc / safari / windows vs. mac

I was just going to say the same thing! I access banking in the UK and Australia, both my banks (HSBC and ANZ) have both recently started working perfectly on Safari, whereas they weren't a month or so ago. It's worth trying the sites again if you haven't already. Also, when i couldn't...

    ical Simply not working

Tried all that stuff with no success. My god, that Apple 'help' is as useless as you can get. Saying 'try leaving your computer on' has got to be the most stupid piece of advice I have ever seen. It apalls me that Apple has not fixed a fundemental flaw in a key part of it's software. I'm...

    ical Simply not working

After a recent upgrade to Panther, NONE of my alarms ever pop up, whether the program is running or not. To add to the frustration, if I want to add a 'To-Do' I can add it by double clicking in the pane, but can't edit the details unless I restart the program. I've already reinstalled the...

    Can't delete user.

Hey all, I'm trying to delete a user on my ibook 10.2.8, I go through the process using the Preferences Pane. The system seems to go through the motions, but when it is completed, the user is still present at login. Bizarrely, when I check my 'users' folder, the user still exists AND...

    Aargh. I hate Internet Explorer!!!

Can't tell you much about the code, but I had a similar experience a while back - I got into Web Design after trying out Dreamweaver on my Mac, it all looked wonderful, then looking at it on a PC it looked quite frankly crap. There are 2 problems, the first is obviously the code rendering in...

XP and OSX, do I need a Crossover Cable?

I tried a crossover cable. That doesn't work either. It looks like it's basically the Windows XP computer with a problem. Surprise! Microsoft want to charge me to fix it, when it's a hole in the software.

Seems a simple problem, or is it?

Unfortunately, the hell in a box that is Windows has a 'device conflict', whenever I try and install a network card. I contacted Microsoft but the bastards want to charge me for it when it is their software that is faulty. So I was hoping to use an Ethernet method as an alternative! ~I'm...

Seems a simple problem, or is it?

Hello again, Thanks to the guys who answered my question about the crossover cable. I can safely say that's not my problem now. To recap, I have an ibook connected to the net via a wireless router using an Airport card. Works fine. I have enabled Internet Connection Sharing on my ibook...

XP and OSX, do I need a Crossover Cable?

I'm a total novice when it comes to things like proxies I'm afraid. :o( I haven't touched the proxy settings on my ibook, or on the PC. All I did on the PC was set up a new network, and entered my Mac's IP address in the default gateway.

XP and OSX, do I need a Crossover Cable?

Thanks for that. I've already got Internet Sharing enabled. While the PC regonises there is a connection, and even verifies the speed. It won't surf the web. I even put my Mac's IP address in. I have switched Personal File sharing on. But Windows file sharing still won't enable. Tsk...

XP and OSX, do I need a Crossover Cable?

I've searched throught the forums, and I think I've found most of the answers I need, but I'm stuck on the last one. My other half has a Dell Laptop, with Ethernet Network card installed. I have a G3 ibook, connected to the internet using an Airport Card. I've been trying to connect the XP...
