Luce- Do you notice any odd applications running when you do a top command or list all of your processes? Also, you might try looking in the Activity Monitor. Does the redirect only happen when you try to go to google or for other websites as well? You might double check the proxy setup...

Don't know if this is related or not. Just upgraded my grandma's computer from Panther to Tiger. Opened mail (before saving a backup copy of her mailboxs) and Tiger Mail converted the mailboxes to their new format and lost all the old mail. :confused: Can't believe I forgot to back up...
