    Do it the easy way if you go to aquafiles.com you can find a application called DesInstaller this will allow you to uninstall any application you have installed as it uses the receipts left from the installers. Very nice have used it to remove ARD on a few machines.

    I have had this problem on a few machines, just create another user. Switch users then turn off auto login on the first account now switch back and turn on auto login. Delete the other account

    Did sudo systemstarter -g work under 10.1 ???? I cant try this now as I have upgraded both of my machines to 10.2 now. I thought the files in /etc were applications, sorry if I sound really silly for asking but as my nan used to say if you dont ask you will always look silly.

    I wont buy any of these magazines anymore as 80 % of the magazines are filled with Adverts. You have to hunt for the reviews of products it quicker to do this on the net. Don't get me wrong I prefer to read thses articles in magazines but the magazines have become trade papers. Starbuck

    Its a desert out there, but then again that whats comes from buying new technology. I cant even get my Ti to dial out to the internet with my T68 using the Bluetooth. It dials and then it disconnects straight away. DOH!

    Look in a few text files that are in various places. "/etc/hostconfig" is the most important. Also check /etc/httpd/httpd_macosx.conf and change the server name or IP addresses there too. If you have added any unixy software like postfix for mail, be sure to change those configuration files too...

    I have also been informed that you can edit the netinfo database you will have to look at all the entries. Make sure that you have the right IP address. I will check for you later on today if I have time to see if I can give you a little bit more of a helping hand.

    I not to sure what it edits in the netinfo database. This is something that I keep putting off learning :rolleyes: Still getting to know the command line. But re running the setup assistant resolves the problem as I had the problem on two osx servers
