Safari 5.0.6 will not launch on my ppc with OS 10.5.8

Pacifist does a better job, it will install all the files to their original locations, overwriting the older existing files. No need for a tedious manual search and delete process.

Safari 5.0.6 will not launch on my ppc with OS 10.5.8

My suggestion would be to download a new copy of safari Then use Pacifist to replace the defunct copy you have installed.

    Help with installing hotspot shield

Can't say I have ever tried, that was just one of the links from a Google search using "Hotspot Shield for 10.5.8" as the search parameter. I know what you mean about difficult download links, but I'm sure if a person is determined enough that one of those links will get results.

    Security Update Frells Safari

Now you've got me confused, first you say you updated the 'Clone' now you say it was the 'non Clone' you updated. Which was it, or did you update both without testing fully for any problems?

    Security Update Frells Safari

There is no way that security update could have botched your system Clone. Think of it for a moment, your clone is sitting there on a totally different HD, and by the way, what happens if you just boot from the Clone?

    Safari crashes when sending attachments?

A standard repair method I use whenever I suspect damaged system files is to download the "Combo updater" for whatever version of OSX I am running and install it. This will repair any and all damaged files and has always worked for me.

url and cache problem OS X.5.8

Can we assume that you know about the "Empty Cache" selection under "Safari" in the top menu bar? Also, "Onyx" has the means to do a very thorough cache purge. Just make sure to download the correct version for your OS.
