I don't see how this could be done effectively. First off, the software that runs the smart playlists is built into itunes, not the ipod software. The smart playlists get shuffled to the ipod and the ipod doesn't know the difference. The ipod does have this on the go stuff, but that's only one...

What about plugging a FW HD into one mac, and plugging another mac into the other plug of the HD? Will this enable FW target mode, or will they both share the disk but not be able to access the other side? I.E. Can 2 macs share one cd burner at the same time? hmm

I had a different problem, that the stupid thing wouldn't download my songs. If you go to the Advanced menu and click on Check for Purchased Music, it will pull them up again, but I was having to do this like 8 times for each song I had in the qeueue. Eventually it did get everything I had...
