So you cannot find the icon for dashboard in your dock? Go into your Applications folder and locate the Dashboard icon. Drag that into your dock. Alternatively you can actually use a key (on your keyboard) to open dashboard up. This can be customized in System Preferences > Dashboard & Expose'.

Simple. Go to View > Customize Adress bar. And drag the defualt set in. Also to move buttons etc. around without going into that dialog. You can use the Command key to drag the buttons around. This in most circumstances can be used globally through OS X.

Has anyone noticed this in 10.4.2? The dock for me sometmes becomes un-responsive to magnification.

Yeah it isn't the best dock animation, it looks similar to scale in a sense. You can turn it on with Cocktail.
