    Linksys Router Question

So, the problem is not wifi related. Make sure all your network settings are set to automatical and not specified anyhow (IP, Routers-IP, subnet...). Test if you loose your connection to the wan (internet) or to the router. How to do that? Open the routers interface over your web browser (this...

I don't think the bin file is supposed to be unpacked. It should be uploaded as such.

    Linksys Router Question

Hi GMulholland and welcome to the forum. Your text was slightly confusing. Is it your pc laptop that looses the connection or a mac with 10.4.3? However it is, I would (if possible) connect the computer to the router using an ethernet cable. Just to check, if the problem is wifi related or not...

    Emailing 150MB file

It's very simple if you are on 10.4.x. I guess it should be almost the same on panther and jaguar. You open System Preferences and go to Sharing. Activate FTP Access. And that's it. The adress should be: ftp://yourcomputername.yourdoma.in or simply ftp://your.ip.adre.ss. It would be easier to...

Networking a windows XP machine as a router to OSX

Hi Njal and welcome to the forum. It should work! This is the idea: you should setup your wireless network to run in the ad hoc mode. The ad hoc mode kinda makes your pc work as a wireless access-point. I am not sure how you can do that but double clicking the icon of your wlan in the right...

    Upgrade to USB 2.0

Just recently I found out that you might be lucky with some of the "pc-only" usb2.0 cardbus adapters as well. Just take your tibook and visit your next computer store. I am sure they will allow you to test the card before buying.

    iSight capabilities on SKYPE?

The mac version of skype does not yet support video chat / calls. But obviously it's just a matter of time. If you can't wait that long try ichatav on the mac side and aol on the pc side. Works very well. And welcome to the forum.

PING, do you want a higher or lower number?

ping is the time a package needs to reach the corresponding computer / server and get a "package accepted" answer. The lower the time (in ms) the faster your package is transfered which is very important in online games.

    iCal issues

Hmpf..:( Anyway, synching events later than 8 weeks would be quite nice too. I found an article on macosxhints.com but I wasn't able to apply it on my current platform. This might be due to the fact that the article is from november 2003, I guess. Thanks Fryke!

    iCal issues

Hey Fryke and thanks for your reply. I also tried removing the iCal folder in Application Support. It didn't help. Another problem is that I can only sync the events of the next max 8 weeks.. Any idea what other file might cause all these troubles?
