can anyone get the symbol font to work? i need to write in greek (characters at least) and symbol always worked before. key caps, okito, text edit, none of them recognize it. do i have a damaged font or is something amiss?

is it possible that the applescipt is bypassing the finder, thus the speed increase. i.e. the finder can be dog slow, and applescript is basically opening the program from the terminal level. g4 powerbook 500 w/ 768ram. osx 5m28

i had to reformat and reinstall 10.1 to get itunes to synch with my new ipod and in the process lost my saved cookie for the omniweb sneaky peak page. does anyone have the username - p/w combo? thanks. by the way, the ipod is great; can't wait to hook it up to my car stereo...

i've been waiting for this exact thing (well, smaller and lighter would have been better): i don't need to buy a firewire drive for backup - i don't need 20 or 40 or 60 gigs to backup the essentials, just a gig for the critical files. rechargable 10 hour battery life, same as the rio players...

i have pbg4 500 with 768 ram with a clean install of 10.1 and things are by and large zippy. interestingly, filemaker windows resize at lightspeed, but omniweb and mail still lag a bit. crank up the ram, and if you are running omniweb sp4.1 then make sure and close it every once in a while...

any other ideas?

do you know of any way to hide running apps in the dock? that is, i have a bunch of programs running and the dock gets too long. i don't want some of those programs showing up, i know they are running, they always run, and it seems like a waste of space to have the icon in the dock. thanks...
