I agree, on a Desktop, a touch screen would be annoying after awhile. Second, personally, I don't want finger print marks all over my screen on my desktop.

Holding down the Option-Command-Shift-Delete keys, during start up will bypass the Hard Drive and boot up on the CD/DVD reinstall CD. At that point, you can attempt to remove, what you feel has caused the trouble, or reinstall the system software, as you wish.

Good advice Fryke, XP is tested and true. As far as I know their really isn't any anti-virsus software for Vista yet, or I should say one that is worthy. Windows 1 care has gotten terrible reviews, while other apps, to my knowledge, are not yet Vista ready or only offer minimal protection.
