my Mac G4 Powerbook...Upon start up finder is not responding and I cannot access any programs or utilities. I boot in safe mode still same result. I did the fsck. No results. I attempted to reset prams..still not results. I am not sure what happened but I believe it is a quicktime error or something. I added a file update to quicktime for burning dvds and that's when the problems began. I tried to load the tools cd and panther cds by holding down c during reboot but it does not access the cd. I cannot run disk utility since I cannot open any applications. I do not have terminal in my dock so I cannot run that either. Safe boot does the same thing finder not responding. Help I am freakin out!

Holding down the Option-Command-Shift-Delete keys, during start up will bypass the Hard Drive and boot up on the CD/DVD reinstall CD.
At that point, you can attempt to remove, what you feel has caused the trouble, or reinstall the system software, as you wish.

thanx...I did that and it seemed to work a bit..I ended up reinstalling the os...and finder came back up all files there..but now the hard drive is almost full only 645mb left..there is a previous system folder which i am not sure if I can delete...most of my programs open..but itunes does not...safari does not and disk utility does not run either..i ran mac janitor that did nothing to fix..any ideas?

If your application are there, you can delete the old system folder.
Also delete the add-in for Quicktime as you believe this cause you the problem. After doing so your system does not perform as you wish, I suggest, although extreme, is make sure you have all the necessary files, (music, photos, applications, etc) backed up, and so a reinstall erasing your hard drive completely.
The reason why I say this is because a totally new system will be better, and of course not putting anymore adds-ins.
