    It sure is WindowMaker. I have it running via VNC with Xvnc. As far as how it compares to tvwm, I couldn\'t tell you. I haven\'t had the patience to play with tvwm. :)

    X Windows is a graphical front end to Unix. Apple built Aqua on top of Unix, but nearly every other unix uses X Windows as it's GUI. Linux, BSD and even Darwin use it.

    Are you still using the beta?

    I use X as my primary OS. The only reason I go back to 9 is to get pictures from my S20 :) Everything else is done in X and now that I've successfully imported my email from OE5 in to Mail.app, I rarely even launch Classic. Woohoo!

    Go grab photoline 32 (carbon) from versiontracker. it's a photoshop like application :) There's also Tiffany which is a cocoa based graphic app.

    jEdit is a massive text editor written in Java. It sounds scary but it really is great. :) http://jedit.sourceforge.net/ You might look at IRCStep or JediKnight for IRC. OmniWeb for web browsing. Get OmniDictionary which is a way cool network dictionary app avaiable to ALL cocoa apps...

    hehe... thanks for the kudos on my screen shot :) There's nothing out of the ordinary there really. Fire jEdit (Java not Japanese) Napster Mac Blox SoundJam Terminal IE 5 Carbon CPU Monitor and of course: Grab :) The terminal shot would have been way cooler with that...

    It hasn't been a problem for me. I think just about all carbon apps suck up CPU cycles so the kernel is doing its job well as far as I'm concerned.

    No skips for me! Not one. Not even when launching Classic! I'm 100% satisfied with SJP! Imagine ripping discs in the background with very little slowdown! WoooHooo!
