    OS 10.1.1 Scsi burner support

Pioneer have a really nice scsi dvd drive, they do exist as now days you can buy most servers with dvd and servers are scsi only. Scsi has disappeared from the desktop market and is server only, and they are not just scsi cards anymore but generally raid cards. The reason is speed and...

    Webcams and osx

Yeah I was afraid that might be the case, its just annoying that apple have over looked web cams. Most people have fast internet now days (dsl & cable) so why should they not be able to Video Conference. I shall have a look around version tracker and might go down to my local apple store and...

    Kaleidoscope X

The XP gui is actually a real pain in the ass, they have tried to make the system easy to use. But instead they have made the assumption that all users are morons and hidden everything. After 15 minutes I just wanted to make the bad GUI go away..

Things like this make me so mad

Macs attitude has changed, mac bashing is dropping off as they release comptuers that are just that damm good. How can people say a PC is so good then go off and windge about windows and how shit it is. I was watching a friend try and get his windows install working today and he could not, he...

    Raid?

Also dont forget that RAID can slow down you writes, and because your using IDE drives it will decrease the performance of the system. My suggestion is to just have them both as 1 volume (if 1 disk goes they both go) or keep them seperate and invest in a sancube or some scsi disks. If you...

Why I bought my first mac in 10 years and loved it

My g4 450 beats my p3 900 hands down. As you said the imac is a entry level system, you cant compare it to a 1gig athlon. If you want mac performance look into the g4, the results are amazing.

    Warranty on iPOD

I have been hearing that the iPOD only has a 90 day warranty. Can anyone else confirm or deny this. It would be a major turn off if apple wont support the product for at least a year. When i brought my sony mini-disc player it came with 3 years warranty. Apple.. whats going on?

    Terminal: 'time'

I once had to reboot a netware 4.11 server that had 218days uptime, the only reason I rebooted it is because I installed some new software. The server was under a huge load at a school. There is a site that records uptimes automatically, I wonder if it has any osx ones so far.

    Mac Retorts

"Windows computers manufactured by companies such as IBM, Compaq, Dell, and millions of others are by far the most popular, with more than 600 million machines in use worldwide. Macintosh fans, on the other hand, may note that cockroaches are far more numerous than humans, and that numbers alone...

very slow file transfer from OSX to win2000

You should get about 5-7meg on 100meg ethernet average, on gigabit ethernet you get about 12-18 average. IF you can try and see if its a hardware or software problem. What I do when something like this happens is FTP from one machine to another. IE.. Setup the FTp service on your mac...
