    MacDesktops.com "Under Construction"

If you don't care too much about the Apple logos, slogans and stuff or prefer to add them yourself, stock exchange is an excellent free source for desktop backgrounds. Giving feedback is good, just don't tell the photographer you're using a picture as a desktop background -- that's usually just...

    Dual Core PowerMacs Tomorrow

64 bit GUI applications are multithreaded; they use two or more processes and utilize interprocess communication techniques. One of the processes is the 32 bit GUI, the others can be instances of a 64 bit backend. The Cocoa frameworks are compiled 32 bit binaries and therefore can't be linked...

Oh Caffeine, How I need Thee

What brand of machine do you use? I have a mediocre DeLonghi capable of producing drinkable espresso, but it doesn't achieve the aroma of properly pressed espresso. Recommendations, anyone? Time for dessert ;)

    Dynamic IP for PPPoE

If you connect directly with PPPoE, your computer is automatically assigned an IP by the service provider. More likely though, the modem has a built-in router which takes care of the PPPoE connection and assigns local, dynamic IPs to other computers on the local network automatically via DHCP.

    iTunes stop time

Well, you can try to analyze a few tracks and see if the track length difference between iTunes and QT is linear. Three tracks of different lengths should be enough--3, 10 and 60 minutes for example. Then you should be able to calculate how much time to subtract or add to get "iTunes time"...

    iTunes stop time

The information is stored in the 'iTunes Music Library.xml' file and can be edited quite easily. A nice opportunity to learn NSXMLParser ;) I guess the cleanest approach to such an application would be to reverse scan each song using e.g. Core Audio to find the (relative) end, and store the...

Oh Caffeine, How I need Thee

Seems that Norwegian and Danish coffee culture is similar. "Coffee" is a synonym for tasteless mud water. Not every shop has good espresso, though. Decent, but not good. There are two cafés in town that I frequent, one has the best chocolate cake (on earth!), the other the best espresso. I...

Espresso. Thanks to Italy for excellent coffee culture :D It's obviously stronger than plain coffee, but personally I think it has a much rounder aroma. A little cup of concentrated coffee is far more drinkable than the washing water-like stuff you get served as "coffee" in most places.

Apple Mail Inbox Deleted (NEED RECOVERY)

Also check if there are any files in your trash bin in the dock if you haven't emptied it since you deleted the emails. Not sure, but Mail could be like iTunes and move the files to the trash instead of actually deleting them.
