My DSL provider connects via PPPoE thru a Dynamic IP. How do configure this this to my Mac where it only has datga field for Static IP?

You've got a DSL modem right? That you connect to via Ethernet or maybe USB?

Set the Mac to use DHCP, the modem will assign the Mac an IP.

If you connect directly with PPPoE, your computer is automatically assigned an IP by the service provider.

More likely though, the modem has a built-in router which takes care of the PPPoE connection and assigns local, dynamic IPs to other computers on the local network automatically via DHCP.
