Cool. Can I ask you what kind of speed boost you get on your iMac? Quartz stuff on my powerbook isn't really faster except for transperancy and scrolling in a few applications.

Where is the option to turn off anti-aliasing? I'm using 10.2 and I'm not seeing it.

From what I'm seeing with 10.2 Quartz extreme doesn't offload quartz for normal things anyway. When moving a window around on my PBG4 with a radeon mobility, CPU usage of window manager is still around 40%. I think quartz extreme is just for special effects like the screen zooming for people...

So you've used 10.2. I have a friend who actually attended WWDC, so I'm thinking of getting it off him. I'd like to know about your experiences with it. Do any applications or games stop working? Is there a place that has a list of known bugs?

I tried iChat in OSX v10.1 and it won't launch. It attempts to launch in the dock for about a third second then its gone. Has Apple done this on purpose or is there some actual difference in the operating systems?

Thanks for the good link to the video. Pretty much any video is impossible to find. I thought apple wouldn't let anyone take video or pictures at WWDC so its surprising that even this much could exist.

I think when Apple reaches 11.0. they'll be calling it "Mac OSX v11.0". I really think the X in the name doesn't have as much to do with the version number as it does with distinguishing it as not just a continuation of OS9. As for 10.2, I think it'll be called 10.2. Or maybe I'm nuts.

I started a little boycott of Universal records a while back because of their upcoming CD's that use the protected WMA format (which microspork handed them big bucks to do). The CD's don't work in macs. They work in PC's but you can't rip them (officially but of course there will be hacks)...
