Change Primary DNS - ARD Command?

Are you using fixed IP addressing or DHCP. If the latter just modify the dhcpd.conf file if you have unix dhcp server or change the setting if it is windows. If you have fixed IP addressing then you need to copy a file out to your clients using the command line part of ARD with the user as...

Not wishing to over simplify things but after you moved them to the trash you did empty it, if not that is where the space will have gone ?

    Macbook Pro Slow/Over heating/other issues..

First thing to take a look at would be Activity Monitor to see what is taking up the system resources, if it genuinely reaching those temperatures something must be using almost 100% CPU time. There is a Core 2 Duo temperature sensor program and widget around, but I can't remember where I got it...

    Help! Crazy pixel mess!!!

It should be no problem, I have done it a couple of times. Just make sure you only press it once as per the instructions. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself look around for an Apple authorised repair centre or Apple store in your area and take it there.

    Temporarily store network logins

Windows clients automatically cache login details of users who have authenticated against the network. Macs will do the same if you select create a mobile account in the AD settings in Directory Access. I assume you are authenticating against a Windows Domain.

how to convert wma to itunes

No, there aren't unfortunately. The easiest way to do it is very annoying, but you can import them directly on the Windows version of iTunes and it converts them as it imports them. If you have access to a Windows system do that and then just copy them off to the Mac.

    Help! Crazy pixel mess!!!

The only thing I acn think of is reseting the pmu as follows : Here is Apple's instructions (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=95037) for the procedure: Resetting the PMU Chip Procedure 1. Disconnect the power cord and check the battery in the battery holder (BT1). The...

Tech question with screenshot of issue

You could try Disk Warrior, when I had a similar problem there were reports that it could fix this in some cases, but not all. In the end I had to repartition the drive and re-install the system. I know this is not probably the best time to mention it, but did you not back-up the data if it...

    Leopard: Bugs/Compatibility Reports

AdmitMac does not install nor does Secureclient VPN software. It is a little flaky in it's directory services as well failing to bind to either an Active or Open directory server.

Music won't show up but is still on iPod // 80GB 5G iPod

Apologies for that, I got interrupted while reading the original post and missed the last bit of that paragraph. Still might be worth a reset to see if that helps.

Adobe says: CS3 not fully tested for Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard"

I agree if there is an inherent problem or issue with the product. My issue with this is not that Apple have upgraded their OS and the product now doesn't work, more that if I need to replace a Mac I am forced to use the latest version and am left with an even larger bill than I need to pay...

Music won't show up but is still on iPod // 80GB 5G iPod

First try resetting the iPod by pressing and holding the centre button and menu at the same time until it restarts. If this doesn't work you could try a piece of software called Senuti which lets you copy music from your iPod back to yuo computer.

    Weighty question

If my memory serves in TNG series and the start of First Contact they were being asked to patrol the Neutral Zone to make sure the Romulans didn't take advantage of the Borg attack on Earth, so I would say they never met. I didn't watch all of DS9 so I don't know if the both got involved in...

Adobe says: CS3 not fully tested for Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard"

But that was the problem, it worked fine under 10.3.9 just not 10.4. This would not have been an issue if I could have continued to use 10.3. I accept that is not possible on the newer Intel based Macs, but this was a G5. Also why should Developers have to keep patching products just to get...

Adobe says: CS3 not fully tested for Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard"

To play Devil's Advocate here, why is this entirely Adobe's fault. I agree with most of the comments regarding them here, but this issue is not just one that affects them. Backwards compatibility is an alien concept to Apple as far as it's OS is concerned and that is not just a problem for...

    iPod nano won't shut off...

I had a similar problem with my 30GB 5G iPod. I traced it to only happening when I tried to turn it off in the first few seconds of a track playing. Let the timer run to 10 seconds plus and it shuts down fine. I don't know if this may be the same in your case.

    Disk repair?

Hi and Welcome. You need to boot from your install DVD/CD and when you get to the first screen after the language selection you should see Tools in the menu bar. Select Disk Utility. You can then select the partition with the error and repair it.
