    Airport connection problems

Where are the three (or currently two) powerbooks connecting to? A router? What settings do you have on the router? WEP? MAC? I think your powerbook will work fine with the ethernet cable plugged. But this still doesn't prove that the airport card is damaged. Make sure you turn off any kind of...

    Connected but No Internet

Factory default means security issues. You obviously had a problem with the settings on your router when it came to wifi. It was not related to internetshare, since you weren't even able to access the router wirelessly. Here is an idea to overcome the security issues: Turn on MAC filters on the...

Share DSL connection between WIN XP and mac

Turning on filesharing on your windows machine will not mean the files are shared to the wan (internet). In windows you specify to which network device you share your folders. And in this case it should be your local network. So, no security issues so far. On the mac side you can share certain...

    Connected but No Internet

Hi Charles, just few questions: are you able to access the routers interface in your browser from the powerbook? If yes, make sure there are no security settings on on the router such as MAC filters, WEP / WPA encryption. If you can't access the routers interface (and this I think should be the...

    Apple Announces MacBook Pro

Thought so too, but I wondered: if Acer and Co. are releasing Yonah laptops that early, there might be only the intel reference board available coming with EFI. But it wouldn't make sense to release such a laptop without a fitting windows version.

Can we load Windows directly on the IntelMac

A little bit off topic: iEmulator announced a new IntelMac Version that will emulate a full x86 platform for windows. But only BIOS, graphic unit and network interface will be emulated. The cpu commands will be directly handed over to the Intel processor. They are talking about a huge speed...

    Apple Announces MacBook Pro

Shouldn't these laptops also use EFI? If so, how will WinXP run on those? By the way, isn't Yonah 64bit?

Share DSL connection between WIN XP and mac

Why don't you plug your devices like this: DSL > Netgear > PC DSL > Netgear > Laptop About your filesharing problem: did you share a folder to the right network-location (you should have one ethernet connection for the netgear 'lan1'? and one for your Mac 'lan2'?)? You should share the folder to...

Can we load Windows directly on the IntelMac

I would be interested in running Windows on another partition on my MacBook. Why? There are still many applications that are either only available for windows systems or run a lot better than on macosx. That would make your Mac perfect.

    Motorola V3x or V3i?

Funny, I have the same cell phone as you and I'd like to get my hands on the Razr V3x as well. I am quite positive it will work fine with isync if you are on tiger. However, the best way is to test it at your dealers if you have a mobil mac.

Share DSL connection between WIN XP and mac

Make sure you plug the Westell router to the uplink port of your switch. Turn on dhcp on your Westell and set all network settings on your winxp and macosx on automatic. That should work.

Lost user name and password Powerbook

You can reset account passwords. Boot into your macos CD/DVD holding the 'C' key. In the menu bar on top you will find some functions such as Disk Utility... There should be an option for resetting the account passwords. Good luck!

    Apple Announces MacBook Pro

Doesn't the recent G4 powerbooks superdrive support burning dual-layer DVDs? So, why didn't they use that one? I kinda believe it's supported but not mentioned. What do you think?
