You could use Disk Copy to make an encrypted disk image using AES (or i that what you guys have been talking about ?)

It is turned off by default, so you must activate it. (sorry for stating the obvious...but you might have missed it)

it does stop pop ups. (did you restart Netscape when you unchecked it ?) in fact it even stops the target="_blank" html from opening a new window
