I am not sure whether Leopard standard applications are compatible with Tiger. When you restore you may wish to keep the applications that Tiger installs and only transfer the ones that you added.

I am posting this for information. The Leopard installation will check whether the iMac meets minimum requirements. However it has a bug. When it decides to refuse the install it either proposes a "restart" or an "ok" button. Pressing either button just re-boots the iMac and DOES NOT EJECT...

did you forget that the Mactel MacPro's still don't have an iSight ?

I did read somewhere something about "interface robustness" not being the same in the Leopard wireless connection. However I do not know if this is the cause, nor - quite honestly - what kind of robust magic it supposedly does. Maybe woth a look, anyone heard this also..?

Did you try the simple... use the Tiger install disks that were delivered with the mac and do a "erase and install" you should be ok. (you will need to backup however) That should work unless the installer screams that a more recent version of the OS is already installed.
