I have a MacBook Pro. I just got it about 8 months ago. I installed Mac OS X Leopard and later found out that Pro Tools will not run properly with Leopard installed. So I need to some how uninstall leopard. Is there anyway undo this

Archive and Install, or (better) erase and install.
Back up your data to an external drive, then wipe the drive clean.

Did you try the simple...

use the Tiger install disks that were delivered with the mac and do a "erase and install" you should be ok. (you will need to backup however)

That should work unless the installer screams that a more recent version of the OS is already installed.

So i need to back up my drive. I bought an external maxtor hard drive..how can i make sure that once i reinstall tiger, i can regain all my files and settings that i used to have before i installed leopard?

You should backup the /users/<you> folder, and the /Applications folder at least. You can copy everything with something like Carbon Copy Cloner.

and the /Applications folder at least

I am not sure whether Leopard standard applications are compatible with Tiger. When you restore you may wish to keep the applications that Tiger installs and only transfer the ones that you added.
