    Also, prior to re-install it, try to turn airport off and disconnect any other ethernet cable (summary be offline while installing and running it for the first time). I found other issues related to network and iTunes.

    Hello, on utilities there is the console utility to look for errors. That's where I want you to check for messages. Sometimes it will present you a valid information to resolve your problems. Check under Database Search | All Messages. Also under CrashReporter on the same utility.

    I have the same problem, but mine is even newer (bought it in July 2009). I have a simple workaround that seems to work for me: just close the mac and re-open it. You don't have to restart it (at least in my case). I have to send it to fix, but currently I have been working like a dog on it...

I had a similar problem when installing the bootcamp when on the XP installation the program asked me if I wanted to format the WIN partition, and I answered No...

    Simple, go to Disk Utility, under utilities (command+shift+u), and choose your device and press eject. I had the same issue long ago with a CD+R not showing anywhere and stuck inside of the MacBook. Hope this helps you.

    Can you please verify what are the options available on Network Preferences? Do you have AirPort, and Ethernet available? What is the AirPort Status? Is there any preferred networks configured? Do you use DHCP? If yes, have you renew the DHCP Lease?
