A bluetooth remote for airtunes would be way to complicated for the purpose. To go through the effort of "linking" them up just for a remote is ugly. However, I do agree that a remote of some kind is a must. It just doesn't make sense not to have one.

It is a safe bet that if you don't know about ports, then you haven't set up the router to forward anything to your computer. That is, your computer is not experiencing DOS from outside your network. If your other pcs are fine by all accounts, then no one can be DOS'ing your router either...

Since you don't seem to be too familiar with compiling things, you may want to take a look at fink ( http://fink.sf.net ). It will download, compile, and install things like ghostscript for you.

Are you sure your drive supports +R discs? Assuming you are running OS X you can fire up system profiler and under the disc burning category you can see the types of discs your drive can write.
