    .zip

Should be the same for both 10.3.9 and Tiger. Select the item(s) you wanted zipped and hold down the <ctrl> key, then press the mouse button while still holding <ctrl>. A menu will pop-up (called a contextual menu b/c it changes based on what is selected/pointed at when you bring it up). In...

Warcraft III: Not what I expected.

The Flash ROM update looks scary. Could disable the video card (i.e. only one) if not carefull. Is it worth the upgrade for my PB (i.e. what speed/feature improvements are most obvious)? Noticed any problems?

    PC's too expensive, Intel copying

Well, isn't this somethin' http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,67664,00.html?tw=rss.TEK Seems copying the Mac mini isn't only hard to do, but also more expensive. Apple really did a nice job with the mini Mac in making it the least expensive machine out there.

Is there a way to "fool" the servers?

Try using safari enhancer to add on the debug menu to safari. under that menu there is an option to change how safari identifies itself to servers. One option lists PC MS explorer, you can try that. Here is a link: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/10482

    Disable iChat initial IM popup

right, I tried looking around and there does not seem to be sucha feature in iChat. I'd suggest sending an 'ichat feedback' email to apple. I guess the pop-up idea was designed so that you don't miss messages if you had it hidden. In this case, a feature is a bug. Hmmm...

Great review of 10.4 features, in depth

I ran across this earlier today and have been reading through it on and off all day (warning, very long). This is a very good indepth article about all of the changes to OS X in 10.4. This article made me realize that the upgrade is really worth the money. For all of you that say there are no...

    Multiple monitor support

I remember back in the OS9 days that you could drag the menubar to the second monitor in the monitors preference panel. Is this still possible in OSX, or does this simply re-assign the secondary monitor as the main monitor? I definitly like Viro's idea about having two menubars, though. What...

Microsoft copying Apple's use of PDF

Well, it seems that MS is copying another aspect of OSX; OS level PDF-like support. Except, they are taking on Adobe and making their own PDF-like format. http://www.microsoft-watch.com/article2/0,1995,1789314,00.asp

What 3 things do you want from Apple most? (computer hardware)

as far as the iHome thing, didn't Apple try this already just before OSX with a mostly gaming machine released only in Asia? Darn, forgot what it was called.
