Repent for being a Mac user!!

It is the common destiny of those that believe in the scientific truth of Genesis and choose to take it up with others to be in a minority in intellectual forums. However, Matt is currently doing a good job, and has increased my estimation of Christians. Bernie :o)

Repent for being a Mac user!!

Firstly, it's good that you are willing to debate this – other Christians who are not so secure in their beliefs just get angry when I argue with them. I’ll answer your points: I couldn’t find an authoritative text, but a google search reveals that majority opinion is that he was a Christian...

Repent for being a Mac user!!

Aah - zealousy (hey, I just made up a cool word)     As I understand it, Darwin was dismayed at the time that some people took him to be saying that he had disproved creation. His book "The Origin of Species", portrayed Natural Selection as a way in which new forms could...

Repent for being a Mac user!!

Although I personally reject the bible's version of evolution, I disagree with that statement. I think a preson can believe in the Bible's events and not have to deny evolution to do so. They'd be a little bit strange by the standards of others who tend to beleive only one, but it's possible...

Repent for being a Mac user!!

Aah - another Religion thread, tailor made for Matt. I love these :o) Some reasons:Darwin was a Christian, and a creationist. He managed to believe the two could co-exist. The bible doesn't specify how god created the species. Would deliberately designing the mechanism for evolution be any less...

    The Word-by-Word Story

Once upon a time power was rare, a brave mac user stepped into the evil kingdom of Mytopia to become it's ruler. Bringing only his trusty iBook and iPod. But what he didn't know was that the evil fire-breathing LINUX dragon was lurking right around the corner, hungry for the camelot knights. So...

Mac surfing speeds slaughtered in Wired

One of the WinDose computers in my college computer room takes (Timing - I'm using it now) 35 seconds to render a page   Bernie :o)

    Rendering question

Wow. I guess this at least proves one thing - that the Apple's claims about G4 chips and multiprocessing were well founded. My G4 800 DP Takes 2.5 seconds on that page, and in the computing world, a 500 percent + speed increase is pretty danm good... Bernie :o)

    Rendering question

OK vanguard - this one's for you. I'm curious: Could you try opening that slashdot page you linked to and saving it as a web archive (default option) from IE, and then opening it in IE again, and telling us how long it takes to display properly. I ask this because I want to know if it's...

Mac surfing speeds slaughtered in Wired

I couldn't agree more. My computer is about 1 second slower than an XP box when rendering any complex page, probably because the resources and programming talent at MisroSoft has done a good job in optimisation, and I just don't give a rat's ass. My time is not so valuble that I get peeved by a...

Mac surfing speeds slaughtered in Wired

OK, just saw vanguard's post. So pages take 10seconds for some people. Why not me then? Bernie :o)

Mac surfing speeds slaughtered in Wired

I'm all for blaming wired on this one. They were wrong - *no* page takes 10 seconds to render, even on IE. Aah, flame... Bernie :o)

    Rendering question

They say they're on an 800MHz new iMac, using "MacOS X's standard web browser" i.e. IE. However, I use MicroSloth IE as my default browser, and get no long rendering times. Bernie :o)

    Rendering question

OK, I'm confused. Loads of threads, e.g. one in this forum now about a wired article talk about slower or faster rendering of pages, and about how chimera renders so fast etc... What I want to know, is what is this rendering thing? As I understand it, rendering is the process of turning...

    LiveMotion 2.0

LiveMotion makes it very easy to make an object that will be exported as a bitmap object. I never found vector graphics slow in LM1 exports, unless I accidentally added an effect to a vector object, changing it to a bitmap. Do you think that might be the problem? Bernie :o)
