What is the format type on the drive? Did you check the write permissions via Get Info?

Fake... and underwhelming. THey didn't even bother trying to make it look like it had cool new features in the first shot. And there is no way the 2nd one is anything Apple created.

A rule of thumb, if you can open and view the movie on your Mac via QuickTime Player, you will most likely be able to use Toast to make a DVD of it. The only problem I have had with AVI -> DVD has been movies encoded with Divx or any variant of it (like 3ivx or Xvid).

When you installed iDVD 5, did you make sure to verify that it was set to install the older themes? I am not sure if its on by default or not. When I reinstalled iLife 05, it installed the older themes as part of the install process for iDVD.

Update. Recieved my new HDD and put the newer DVD-RW/DL back in when installing it. The machine booted right into the Mini Install DVD no problem. The bad HDD was definately the culprit, which I figured but wasnt sure. Nice to have my Mini back working again.

Sounds like the action the drive takes when it does not use a format of disc. I'd try a DVD-R or DVD-RW and see if they work. Sounds like its rejecting the +R.

$255 is way too much for an internal drive imho. you could get a 250 gig firewire or usb2 for under $200 and not have to install it in the machine. jmpo.

the Report Spam button is your friend. Use it well, use it often. I only get a few bits of spam on Gmail and they are always flagged as spam and sent to the SPam box. Gmail good. Spam bad.

Have you tried the Digimarc watermark plugin that comes with PS for this? Not sure if it will show up when copied but it does read it back into PS.
