is there a benefit to choosing a G4 over a G3? (i.e. is altivec used heavily in 10.2 and is getting a G4 worth that extra gain in speed?)

Hello all, I am looking to upgrade my G3's CPU with a ZIF G4. What's the best option (Mhz per $) for upgrading the system and still remaining compatible with 10.2? Is this the best route to go in speeding up the system? Thanks.

it would be nice if it were possible to code for the iPod more extensivly (especially game wise). If the iPod is becomming a PDA-like device (with clock, calender, contacts, etc), why not expand the entertainment side of it (music) with some simple games... I would love to see asteroids or...

are these VBR mp3? I know that my iPod has issues with VBR's (like cutting off 3/4 through the song)... Just an idea... Try re-installing iTunes, unless you have a lot of things running in the background, it shouldn't skip...

Long time reaser, first time poster :D . I have a QPS Que firwire drive that dosen't seem to be responding to Toast, iTunes, or Finder burning. The drive is recognized by all three programs, but as soon as I start burning a CD, the progress bar just hangs with no data written. iTunes...
