Indeed the alert sounds on OSX are kinda shitty compared to OS9.2 or even 9.1. OSX is sorta 'silent' OS...you will get used to it:) Maybe if you upgrade to OS9.2 will be less bad:) Good luck

Thanks a lot for your reply..I do get to see in the 'international' pane the time like we use it here day/month/year, but I don't see it on my menu bar.. I have asked a friend with OSX to try to set that on his mac and he had the same problem. it doesn't show in the menu bar although it does...

I have done both things...and no luck. I dont know what the heck could I be doing wrong

Thanks a lot DCD, I did what you said..and yes there is the day/month/year option in the "international" icon, but after I selected that...it doesnt change on the menu bar?..I keep getting month/day/year...any suggestions? Thanks a lot again

There is already a #macosx chat room on undernet with at least 10 users. nice helpfull ppl there. Which remainds me. if someone who doesn't know how and like to 'get ident' go to #ircle and ask for a nice script named "enable ident" easy to use so OSX will always Get Ident:)
