first of you need to make sure that the printer is shared- go to your XP and make sure that the Share with others on the network is enabled; also you can tell by looking at the printers icon if it's shared - it would have a little hand at the bottom. Now, go to your Mac and Add a new printer...

I have a Pioneer Superdrive and it never ejects after going to sleep. The drive just disappears from the desktop when I try to eject. So, the only way to eject is to reboot. And yes, I tried to move the thingy on the back of the Drive and it did nothing.

If you have a Mac it does not mean that you are immune to anything... If Mac OS becomes more and more popular you will have a plenty to worry about...

they are on the same subnet, isn't it 255... etc... I think the problem with this is either the hub or the cable or the Ethernet adapter in the PC... any thoughts?

not sure how you enable it... but I just realized that actually my Mac is wireless (802.11g) and the PC is connected to a hub. So there should be something wrong with the hub or something... Is there a way to check how fast the HUB is?

When I transfer files from my Mac to a Win PC it takes very long - for instance- it says that it needs about 3 hours to transfer a 375Mb file. Is that normal or there is something wrong with my Network? I use Mac OS X and Window$ XP (SP1). They are connected through a Netgear EN104 Hub.

Yep, I have noticed it too... my old G4 Powermac SuperDrive worked faster.

nope, no optical cable... you actually need some sort of an adapter if you want to use it with other optical cable devices.
