ape with just a couple haxies can also lower overall system performance by 5-8%. this is what I experienced when using ape with shapeshifter and windowshade. main reason I stopped using it. I also had some odd behaviors.

I use themechanger and have no issues at all. my xbench scores were even about 1.4 points higher with the theme. when it comes to my computer I run a really tight ship and everything is tip top to the core. I NEVER have any issues of any kind with anything to do with themechanger or anything...

toast has a quick erase that only takes about 20-30 sec. only catch is that you will also need to use toast to write it when in that state.

you can rewrite a cdrw 999 times so there is never wasted space and you can buy one for a dollar. a cdrw holds almost 7 times the data and costs about 8$ less. not a hard choice.

its odd how just the one model has issues. I know a guy with a rev a 12" and its always been tip top.

the current model and i'm sure new ones won't have the issue but a very big handful of the rev a and b 15" had major screen issues. often the specific issue was brightness going all messed up. no worries now though.

i'm pretty sure the current models are quite free of problems. I have not seen many complaints about them at all. the rev a alum. and even the rev b had issues and it mainly seemed to be the 15". the current 15 is very good though from what I understand.

I can't think of the name of the company that makes those racks to stack G3 (b&w) and G4 towers in. i'm sure someone knows what I mean. they hold them at each of the 4 handles and can be mounted sideways or vertical. been googling for 30 min and still no luck. :(

even cdrw and dvdrw is still much less per mb than zip. my superdrive writes dvdrw at 4x which is 5.5 MB/sec. much better than zip.
