lol, now I know what it feels like to have my thread hijacked. sorry everyone I've hijacked in the past. :P

Update: It seems it was a combination of problems. Airport was sucking alot of battery, and the battery I had sucked. My new battery is alot better, even with airport on, and airport off gives it more than 3.5 hours estimation (extrapolation from testing how long it takes to drain 20% x5)

I still cant check on the status of mine because Apple's UpToDate Inquiry site never seems to want to work. The one time I could see (like 2 or 3 days ago), it said "backordered", which probably means I wont get it for awhile.

so I guess if I ever want to get any real work done while not connected, its gotta be with the airport of. alright. :(

Perfessor, its not like I have a spare external hard drive handy. I have my DVD burner, thats it. What I can do is burn my downloads onto a dvd and hope for the best. I'll lose iLife, and the things that come with it like the calculator or stickies, but otherwise it'll be ok.

I got my new battery (already!), and it doesnt seem to be faring much better. Then I disabled airport. It seems to have made a decent difference. Losing 5% of battery took about 6 minutes before, but now it took about 9. So, thats about a 3 hour battery life, a nice jump from my previous...

I'm supposed to have a bootable backup of 20 gigs? But yeah, disable startups and run upgrade, got it. One question though: when do you think the first bug-fixing update will be out? If its within a very short (read: like 2 weeks or less), I may just wait.

ive done too much work on it to do that, imho. maybe I can burn all my downloads onto a dvd and clean install, but that doesnt sound too much fun. so yeah, whats better, archive install or upgrade? dont say clean install, I already know thats the best option. I want to know the runner up.

lol, if you noticed from my other thread I created, I also am confused by the three options. what is the difference between archive and upgrade?
